Apart from his well-demonstrated energy and capabilities running his own business, organising community outcomes such as the development of sporting club facilities and directing significant local sporting events such as the long-running and internationally acclaimed PA and Ma Bendall surfing contest, I have also witnessed Terry’s understated role as a role-model for young people in the Caloundra community.
As the longstanding president of Windansea Board Riders, Terry has had a remarkable influence on the lives of literally hundreds of young people coming through the Club’s ranks. As a result, Terry’s personal influence has spanned generations, while establishing him as a well-recognised community leader and statesman within Caloundra and the broader local region. I have recently been advised that Terry has nominated as a candidate for the Sunshine Coast Council.
In my personal opinion, I know Terry would not only be an excellent representative of Council’s Division 2, but also a hard-working and visionary leader of the entire Sunshine Coast. I believe that if Terry is provided that opportunity, Sunshine Coast Council would be well-served by a recognisable and respected community leader who already has runs on the board, when it comes to getting things done.
